Riparian Explorer Sea Scouts are no strangers to the water, but this year they have taken that extra step. Sailing across the North Sea to The Netherlands on a weeks cruise.
Leaders Jamie and Matt took 15 Explorers on the trip of a lifetime, For their Summer camp this year they are sailing two 49-foot sailboats across the North Sea and up the Netherlands cost. Stopping off in the canals and lakes around Middelburg and Ghent to perform training exercises.
The Explorers stood in watches acting as the main crew of the ship, setting sails, managing the rigging, navigating and sailing the ship.
Having set sails on the trip on 2nd August they returned to home ports on 7th August and are now all qualified as competent crew.
